* ANSIED Full Screen Editor HELP *
ANSIED is a full-screen editor that lets you enter and edit messages on the
BBS. To use ANSIED, just type in your text. The words will wrap
automatically, just like in the normal RBBS line editor. If you make a
mistake, you can backspace over it, also just like in the normal line editor.
When you are done entering the message, press ESCape twice. This will bring
up a menu of things you can do. To save or abort the message, select END by
hitting the 'E' key.
To move the cursor around on the screen, try the arrow keys on your keyboard.
If they don't work, use the Wordstar (tm) "diamond" key combinations to
replace the cursor keypad. They look like this (^ = Ctrl):
^E
^
^A ^S < > ^D ^F
v
^X

-- Tips --
1. If you've "quoted" lines of another person's message, and want to delete
some of the extra quoted lines, use the main menu command B)lock delete,
explained below.
2. If your screen is garbled due to line noise, use the main menu P)aint
command, which will repaint your screen.
3. You can't change the text on lines below the "[* End of Message *]"
marker, or on certain RBBS system lines at the beginning of your message.
To enter text, just move off of those lines.
4. If you make a lot of changes to the message, and it looks "choppy," use
the main menu command R)eflow, which will clean up the messages'
appearance.
5. You can't enter extended ASCII characters into a message.
6. You shouldn't "upload" messages into ANSIED.

-- Main Menu Commands --
Help What you are reading now. CTRL-X or CTRL-K quits.
End Quits the message. You can save or abort the message, or you
can continue entering the text (in case you hit this by
accident).
Block Del Deletes a block of lines. Move the cursor to the top of the
block you want to delete, bring up the main menu (ESC twice) and
select 'B.' Then move the cursor to the end of the block and
hit RETURN. This will remove all lines within the block. ESC at
any time aborts the block delete.
Justify Right justifies the entire message to the left and right
margins. Justification will add "soft spaces" on the screen
(which look like '·'). These will become "real" spaces in the
message when you save it.
Reflow Reflows the text in the message to remove the choppiness of
lines. Reflow won't bother paragraph starts or quoted text.
Ins/Ovw Toggles INSert/OVerWrite mode on the editor. In INSert mode,
text inserted in the middle of a line will move the rest of the
line to the right. In OVerWrite mode, text entered replaces
that at the current cursor position. Words will wrap either way.
Paint Repaints the current screen. This shows you exactly what is
in your message. Use this when line noise garbles your display.
